April 26, 2004 IDAHO WASTE SYSTEMS, INC. The Simco Regional Landfill is the first real option for waste Idaho Waste System Simco Regional Landfill (IWS) is now providing comprehensive waste by rail services to customers in the Pacific Northwest. Rail service provided by the Union Pacific Railroad with tracks running directly onto the landfill site. With operating tracks of 8,000 linear feet, IWS is poised to accept containerized waste from both Municipalities and industrial customers throughout the Pacific Northwest. The Landfill is located in Elmore County approximately 30 miles southeast of Boise, Idaho. The Landfill is easily accessible from Interstate 84 southeast of Boise off the Simco Road Exit #74. The Landfill is in an ideal environmental setting with less than six inches of annual precipitation. Located far away from any populated urban areas or collateral traffic area. The landfill is sited atop an alluvial plain that contains a 350 feet thick layer of basalt. This basalt layer is overlain by a clay and silty/clay layer, which is approximately 120 feet thick. The initial top-soil layer and sand/gravel layer provide the sub-grade for the landfill and the excavated materials provide daily cover during operation. The regional aquifer is more than 450 feet below the ground surface. An array of environmental monitoring systems have been installed to confirm the environmental security and integrity of the Landfill. The landfill is permitted to accept any RCRA non-hazardous residential, commercial and Industrial waste streams including municipal solid waste, construction and demolition materials, wood wastes, special wastes, non-hazardous industrial wastes, non-hazardous industrial process wastes, asbestos, de-watered sludges, petroleum-contaminated soils and tires. Simco Regional Landfill, which is currently permitted at 1,108 acres / 210 million tons of air space is the most economically operated and rate payer sensitive facility in the Northwest. Idaho Waste Systems is pleased to present the Simco Regional landfill to the Pacific Northwest. Please contact me if you are interested in scheduling a facility tour or need additional information.
